Zibagwe Rural District Council is the local government body for Kwekwe District of Zimbabwe, created under the Rural District Councils Act: Chapter 20.13. It was formed through the amalgamation of the former Kwekwe Rural Council and the Mashambazhou District Council in 1993. Zibagwe Rural district comprises of 33 Wards covering 878 143 hectares of land. It was born from the amalgamation of Mashambazhou District Council and Kwekwe Rural Council in July 1993. It constitutes primarily rural areas outside the City of Kwekwe and the town of Redcliff. Its jurisdiction covers three administration zones namely, Zhombe Communal, Silobela Communal and Kwekwe Rural. The latter covers the resettlement areas making up the peripherals of Kwekwe City Council and Redcliff Municipality. Zibagwe has 38,107 households and a population of 175,835 (87,278 males and 88, 557 Females) . Under its jurisdiction, there are 161 schools (Primary 115, Secondary 46), 31 health facilities, 1 District Service Centre, 2 Rural Service Centres, 88 business Centres, 1 195.7km road network, 863 boreholes and 81 dip-tanks. These core facilities require routine maintenance and servicing.

The district is subdivided into 33 wards, with elected councillors representing residents at the district level. We are committed to fostering sustainable community development and enhancing the livelihoods of our residents.
